My experience has been smoothless. I needed a tool that would allow me to have an overview of the health status of a web app and alert me when something isn't working. I found it all in Oh Dear.
Pros
I like the ease of use well balanced with the available features. I think is a very well balanced solution between features and simplicity.
Cons
It's not the most advanced tool available, so if you need a lot of insight maybe this is not for you.

Number of monitoring options, like ssl, custom application health and of course uptime.
Cons
No custom ping monitors for smtp server uptime.
