Google Docs helps me improve my proofreading productivity with the spell check. I have created many documents with it and it's supported on various browsers for collaborations and submissions of files. It's also very easy to convert it into various formats, though not always easy to convert others into it.
Pros
The features most impactful to me are the theme selection, making recent files available offline, integration with Google drive and selection of templates when creating new documents. It was quite easy to integrate with my business process though it might not be easy to use for the first time but with continuous use, one can get a grip on it.
It's good to know that you can easily save to the Google Drive cloud storage space and not on your device.
Cons
Google doc has a good user interface which could also be integrated with other Google products and I really enjoy the templates, though I still think there is need for a tutorial/guideline to use the basic features for a novice. There is need for more updates on the templates as this comes handy in various office apps.
Though there is word count and spell check but I couldn't easily see the page numbering on the mobile, till I went to the page number setting. Finally a good number of features are still missing when compared to the Microsoft word desktop version, but Google doc is only still on mobile.

It has made my work as a writer easier and safer. I can have everything in Drive and not be afraid of losing any data. It has the history of the changes I have made to each of the files. It keeps my comments and notes, too.
Pros
What I like the most is that the document auto-saves, and if anything happens to the computer or any device I am working on, the file will still be in the drive. I won't lose it.
Cons
There is one little thing I still don't know how to do, and it is to activate a dark mode in which the page turns black.

Google Docs: bulletproof collaboration, passable document/content generation

Collaborating on medium-length documents with multiple sections and moderately complex formatting...
Collaborating on medium-length documents with multiple sections and moderately complex formatting is now a breeze in Google Docs. All team members can work on the same document in real-time with little fuss and few issues. Complex formatting may still require export to other software prior to final output. However, for the most part Google Docs just "works"
Pros
Intuitive layout, integration with other Google services/offerings and hosting in the cloud make Google Docs arguably the best way for small teams with far-flung members to quickly generate collaborative documents. Four years ago, using Google Docs to author, edit and review documents was a nonstarter due to missing features found in word processing software. Today, many such features have been implemented, such that quick and easy collaboration using Google Docs warrants overlooking remaining "holes" with respect to features.
Cons
Working with long documents containing complex section-dependent formatting is still a huge issue. More flexibility in the definition and application of styles is in order. As is more granular control over numbered lists to allow section-based dynamic numbering of figures and tables, for example.

Great Notepad for Everyone to Use

Pros
Best platform to manager documents and have them coedited across teams, organizations. Flexible and understandable UI on top of easy online editing. Almost every user has years of experience or familiarity with the tool.
Easily extends filemanagement via apps on other devices and even phones.
A lot of integrations available with existing CRMs and other tools.
Cons
Sometimes copies can become annoying and get to be created mistakenly or due to sharing complexity.
The tool works only online. Some utilities are done in an interesting manner which is not straighworfard.

Overall, Google Docs is a superior experience to using other documentation type services. The best feature about Google Docs is its autosave and the ability to access it from the Google Drive app on my phone.
Pros
I like how user friendly Google Docs are with generating a new document, spell check, word count, and autosave. I also like being able to access my Google Doc from my Google Drive anywhere through the Google Drive app on my Google Pixel phone.
Cons
I can't retrieve previous versions of the document. For example, if I delete something and then want to go back to it, I can't because Google Doc doesn't save previous versions.
