The Best Website Builder for Simple Sites

I genuinely love this tool for creating websites. It is easy to use, cost efficient, and turns out a great end product. I have used it to make websites for photographers, restaurants, and sales businesses alike. It is so versatile and every site visitor thinks it's professionally done.
Pros
This software is easy to use, intuitive, and when you can't figure something out Support is right there for you. They have tons of how to videos and instructions that make everything pretty easy to figure out.
Cons
I dislike the spacer feature - it gets pretty annoying to use those instead of being able to snap an object to a grid and align that way. It works much like Microsoft Word in the sense that if you try to resize or adjust something, sometimes everything on the page moves.

WordPressReasons for Switching to Squarespace
BentoBox is specific to restaurants - they have a wonderful product, however their set-up and pricing did not work for us. Essentially, you pay them to create the initial site and then it's up to you to edit/take care of after the fact. You pay a large set up fee and a pretty expensive monthly fee in perpetuity. We have five locations and it just wasn't cost efficient. Since I already knew how to use Squarespace and knew how to work with SEO, it was an easy, much more cost-effective switch. Bentobox is a great product, but it is pricey to maintain. As a restaurant, we have simple needs as to what people are looking for when they come to our site.- Industry: Research

Overall it was a very smooth experience building a couple of websites and launching them. Their customer support team was responsive and helpful.
Pros
The interface is sleek and user-friendly. I didn't find any struggle getting from starting to building to editing. It was a smooth sails. Some buttons are named a little different than what I'm used to, but was never a problem.
Cons
Sometimes, it gives a feeling of being in a straight jacket. If I use a template, then certain things are not editable. I like to have the functionality of starting from scratch but that's not the value proposition of squarespace.

It's not something I would pick for myself. In general, website creation has gotten more difficult over the years (particularly entering the text). Squarespace is less than pleasant to work with in this regard, but it is rich in features.
Pros
Squarespace has a lot of features. It's relatively easy to create a robust structure for your website. Many cool features are free like the ability to create calendars, add events, and create passwords for different parts of your website. Creating a menu system is nice and flexible. Adding links and making them operate the way you want is intuitive.
Cons
Entering text and formatting is the most difficult. I have over years' experience in entering text in a range of software and I find Squarespace fairly difficult. It's not smart about the default format to use on new content. Your formatting options are also limited unless you want to seriously customize. I also had problems changing the colors of my links. Just not fun entering text. I've also had issues with the ability to save current changes as a draft without publishing.

Easy to use, they have great customer service, as someone who had not built a website before it was simplified and looked professional.
Pros
I loved the versatility of use and ability to change the overall image of my website. That I could implement many pages into it, from blog posts, to a page of recommended items with links to purchase. Open up a store to sell items.
There was an abundance of templates and the ease of access for others to access the website with strict permissions to make adjustments.
Cons
Not all of the templates were exactly what I needed.
When I tried to add images from my own computer they wouldn't always line up accordingly and were stuck in a very segmented grid.
