Pipedrive - selected ahead of HubSport

Very happy so far with PipeDrive - agonised initially about using it because of weaker marketing automation features and 1000 email limit on emails, but still its quick and easy to use and less 'how do you do that' than any of the other five or so CRM's we experimented with.

Strongly recommend.

Life Saver for Disorganized Sales Team

I was building a website and setting up social media platforms for a company and asked "where will these leads go?" they were only using email. Everyone was stepping on each other's toes and had no idea who was called and what was discussed. Some inquiries were never replied to (just lost). They told me they'd have to spend $50000 for a specific crm they needed???
Had to do a bit of research; I looked at some options and many of them were just visually confusing, too complicated, too expensive etc
I tested out Pipedrive and pitched it to the sales team. They're so grateful and very organized now! They love making notes! I would recommend Pipedrive to any sales team just getting started!

Pipedrive - it could be so good

its a crm doing what we want a crm to do - collecting and storing client information and allowing you to book in future contact with them. It has some pretty clever features but also some annoying ones.

A good way to organize!

Now we have an organized schedule with our customers, with a funnel so we can customize it even more.

Pros

Well integrated CRM that works. Clear, easy-to-navigate from company to lead to deal.

Does not try to pretend to be a jack-of-all-trades. An excellent integrations universe provides options for superior specialist apps to provide improved functionality in that area of speciality. Looking at you Ontraport.

Pricing is reasonable:- we are paying £150 for three users. Not cheap - its on the edge of our own affordability, but not as expensive as the frankly ridiculous HubSpot pricing.

Nice free trial process and easy to start without nonsense of having to be sold to be some US-based rep for which I just do not have the time. Keap lost out to us here...

Cons

Maximum of 1 000 names on an email. Even as a small SaaS business we will be hitting this limit with six months. The work around is relatively simple: we have used MailChimp, for which there is a great integration in PipeDrive.

Using MailChimp means we do not need PipeDrive Professional (and MailChimp is cheaper than the extra cost of Professional over Advanced) but I would rather pay a bit more for an integrated solution.

Design is perhaps not as slick as HubSpot, but the ease of adding additional fields to contacts, jumping between companies and contacts is better.

Weak/no LinkedIn integration. Surely this must be the most important tool for B2B lead gen? Really should be more tightly integrated (e.g. add a lead directly from LinkedIn)

Pros

So easy to setup and get started, syncs the email accounts beautifully.
I setup forms through our Wordpress site using Elementor, and used a plugin called *Elementor Pro Form Widget - Pipedrive CRM - Integration* to send all submissions directly into Pipedrive. Every form submission shows up in Pipedrive "New Leads" automatically creates a new contact, lead and note using information from the contact form.
Very good price for this application! Sales team is very organized now, and accountant was happy we didn't break the bank!
The sales team is very experienced in sales, but they definitely learned something new with the activity-based selling process :)

Cons

Pipedrive embed form is a bit slow to load in the page, I had trouble putting multiple forms on one page (as popups, didn't load), and limits styling etc but nice to have as a quick simple option to get started. In the end didn't use it.

Don't use zapier / zaps to send from web forms, not worth the extra $$ per month - if you use Wordpress and Elementor - get Elementor Pro Form Widget Pipedrive CRM Integration from Code Canyon, makes the connection an absolute breeze with more customization options.

There is an issue with using an email alias from our Gsuite account: it keeps defaulting to using the original email address (with old domain) which team doesn't want. We're going to have to remove the alias and make it its own email account for it to show up correctly. We've asked for support from both Pipedrive and Google, and no one understands why our alias doesn't work.

Pros

The map function is great - it shows your contacts on a map which is really handy. the way you can customise filters in any field and save it is as a filter is great and easy to use. The search searches everything including

Cons

Live chat with customer service was great when we were on free trial, not sure if its a coincedence but once we started paying and using it the response time has changed from minutes to hours or days. It was great at first and wouldn't have used it without it being so quick but i guess thats the point...
Had heaps of troubles with imports, still not sorted out and there is only 1 person in Australia who can assist but i think it is a secondary line of business for him. Would have been happy to pay for support
It doesnt manage people well if their email address is not in there - default is it creates a new person which means lots of duplicates (with weird names automatically created from email address)or the other option is Pipedrive turn off this function by request and it does nothing - our previous crm had unassigned email where all the emails sat until you created a new person or assigned an existing one - it was the main method we used for adding contacts to the crm so not having it is a problem, we will have to work out some way of tagging existing contacts and then go through weekly and filter out non tagged ones and fix them so theres a workaround but its annoying for something i thought would be a pretty common issue.
if you click on an activity in your activitiy list it gives a pop up screen to edit the activity and only allows you to see info about that activity not anything on the company, if you go from the company page and click on the activity is better but n

What is Pipedrive?

Pipedrive is a sales CRM and pipeline management application that was created for small and mid-size teams, along with freelancers and non-profits. The purpose behind the solution is to give users the best possible view of all outstanding deals they, and their colleagues, are working on. Pipedrive is completely customizable, which makes it possible for teams to mold the application to their needs, rather than the other way around.

Timeline views provide users with accurate sales forecasts for the coming months and quarters. Advanced reporting features allow users to set both personal and group targets and track how close they’re coming to meeting those targets in real-time. Nightly backups in multiple locations help to ensure that the data that teams enter into Pipedrive is always safe and secure.

Pipedrive Main Features

Sales Pipelines

Most sales teams prefer to use pipelines to see where they’re at and uncover hidden business opportunities. Pipedrive’s sales pipeline views are more effective than traditional to-do lists because they display sales and leads at all different stages. This allows salespeople to clearly view how they are doing and hone in on deals that need immediate attention.

Click over to your sales pipeline for an overview of where you and your teammates are at with any ongoing deals. With Pipedrive’s zoom features, you can narrow in on deals that were added in the past day or week. You can also move deals forward through the pipeline by dragging and dropping them into place.

Pipeline View

Contact Histories

Pipedrive keeps complete deal histories and records of all online interactions between salespeople and their leads or business contacts. In the Contacts portion of the application, users are able to search for contacts by name or organization.

Use the search feature in Pipedrive’s mobile app to pull up contact information for any lead on your mobile device. You can filter your searches by deal—for example, typing in something like “Jennifer’s leads” or “Display ad sales”—and start new calls or emails with one-click. You can also add notes from meetings to any contact’s user history.

Contact View

Timeline Views

Pipedrive’s Timeline View acts as a personal sales manager, helping business users select the right deals and leads to focus on at any given time. Deals are arranged by their expected close dates, allowing salespeople to discover which activities they should be working on before deals get stale.

Customize your Timeline View based on personal preferences or existing sales workflows. You can adjust the Timeline View to see deals arranged by delivery to implementation date. Timeline View is also an important tool for managers who are interested in seeing how their sales teams are doing without spending too much time looking into their salespeople’s individual pipelines.

Timeline View

Sales Forecasting

Sales forecasting tools provide teams with insights into how they can expect the next months or quarters to turn out. Pipedrive’s sales forecasting module provides users with a birds-eye view of company performance. This makes it easier for managers to make adjustments to their plans or expectations before revenue targets fall off track.

Using Pipedrive’s sales forecasting tools, you can track all your to-do items, emails, and scheduled calls for the coming day, along with those that are scheduled to be completed by the end of the month. Click between Pipedrive’s two views (Pipeline View and Timeline View) to see day-to-day work and long-term planning schedules. You can elect to receive notifications any time there is too little engagement with a deal, or when a deal is failing to move through the pipeline at its anticipated rate.

Sales Forecasting

Reporting Capabilities

Every team has its own concerns when it comes to reporting, which is why Pipedrive has developed a customizable platform that businesses can adapt to their own needs. With Pipedrive, salespeople track any number of metrics, including the number of calls made by individual team members and the number of pitches completed in a given period of time.

Visit your personal sales dashboard to see an overview of the data that Pipedrive has collected. You can filter this information by category, product, services, or team member. You can see how your sales results stack up against those of your colleagues, and you can monitor your progress toward reaching personal activity goals in real-time.
