ManageEngine NetFlow Analyzer
About ManageEngine NetFlow Analyzer
NetFlow Analyzer is a holistic network bandwidth monitoring and traffic analysis solution developed specifically to address performance issues of today's dynamic IT infrastructures. NetFlow Analyzer promotes visibility into hybrid and cloud networks and provides insights into bandwidth usage of every element, down to applications and users. With deeper analytics into traffic by volume, speed and utilization, network admins can evaluate the quality and reliability of the network and troubleshoot performance bottlenecks before they impact users. It offers the following benefits:
- Multi-vendor support: NetFlow Analyzer supports multiple flow technologies like NetFlow, sFlow, J-Flow, IPFIX, etc. Admins can monitor the bandwidth usage of a wide range of devices and find out the root cause of issues that have been influencing productivity. Enterprises can also discover the non-flow exporting devices and monitor their traffic with the new agent, Network Packet Sensor.
- Application usage monitoring: Enterprises can monitor app-specific traffic by how each application is being used in your network and by whom with deep visibility into Layer 4 and Layer 7 applications. IT admins can also map homegrown applications or integrate with ManageEngine Applications Manager to monitor other application services traffic.
- Traffic shaping: Maintaining the streamlined performance of top business-critical applications can be a challenging task for admins. NetFlow Analyzer comes in handy, as they can apply QoS policies to different applications or links and evaluate the effectiveness of such policies with CBQoS, which shows the pre-policy and post-policy traffic trends.
- Anomaly detection: With network behavior anomaly detection (NBAD), organizations can detect any unusual traffic behavior in their network, and get notified when there are suspicious IP addresses or traffic enters the network. Besides the existing algorithms and thresholds, admins can also configure new ones based on encountered attacks to notify before it crashes the network.
- Wireless network traffic monitoring: NetFlow Analyzer provides information on wireless controllers and their real-time traffic. Along with this, organizations can monitor the number of users accessing their wireless network by individual access points, SSIDs, Client IP addresses, and MAC addresses. With such detailed insights, organizations can find how their bandwidth is being used and if there are any rogue devices intruding into the network.
- IPSLA monitoring: IT admins can monitor the VoIP, video and WAN traffic to align it with SLAs and prioritize their client's experience. NetFlow Analyzer provides critical metrics such as jitter, packet loss, and MOS, where they can also edit the threshold details and get alerted on any event where the threshold exceeds.
- Threshold-based alerts: With different alert categories such as real-time, aggregated, and security, admins can establish a baseline behavior and configure alert profiles with criteria and severity. When the performance or traffic behavior goes above or below or is abnormal, NetFlow Analyzer alerts the admins via the notification mode they choose.
- Network forensics: Root cause analysis of a network issue can be cumbersome and unfruitful. NetFlow Analyzer's forensics report offers in-depth information with raw data-based reporting. Admins can have a look into the network's past traffic behavior and find any underlying issues with metrics such as TCP flags, Next Hop, Packet Loss, and so on.
- Capacity planning: NetFlow Analyzer's capacity planning reports can help forecast bandwidth usage of organizations to help better plan their network upgradation with visibility into how the utilization has been changing for applications and the overall network.
- Alerts for downtime: As a proactive bandwidth monitoring tool, NetFlow Analyzer notifies the admins when the traffic limits are reduced or exceeded for a particular interface, application, or device.

Manageengine Netflow Analyzer performs far better than the pricing would suggest.

Overall we are glad we get it as an addon to the greater Opmanager product that we purchased. The integration as made things so much easier for our Network Admins to go to one place and get all the info they need on our network health.
Pros
Cost is a big one. Manageengine is very competitive with their pricing and their software performs as well as, or better than competitors multiple times more expensive. Integration. Nearly everything ME puts out talks with their other products in some way. Either just some data and feature sharing via API, or fully being integrated into another larger product like Netflow is with Opmanager. So either you get the stand-alone software or you buy the whole suite, but they function the same.Overall Features. ME just gives you SOOO much within their software. I have a lot more capability that our agency did prior to switching to ME products.
Cons
Can be a little difficult to configure with some firewalls. Our Fortinet didn't want to play nice without some time spend tweaking things and contacting ME for some additional support.

Improving the quality of VoIP service with help of detailed measurements
Reviewed on 2025-04-26
Pros
It was possible to track jitter, latency, and packet loss in real-time to keep the quality of the calls high. It gave good prognosis and allowed to predict necessary changes in the network configurations in time, to maintain identity of communication procedures.
Cons
The VoIP monitoring dashboard has had no capabilities of showing specific indexes in the way the user prefers. This was in a way that involved using the tab feature to get to the required data set to be analyzed.

Demonstrated to be effective in our strategic network planning
Reviewed on 2025-04-25
Pros
NetFlow Analyzer has helped me to accurately forecast future bandwidth use to make the transition from a network environment to another with greater ease. The continual capacity to monitor traffic patterns enables identification of the growth and usage patterns of the network.
Cons
Some flow technologies such as J-Flow needed further configuration during the installation process to be accomplished.

Assisted me to relate traffic concerns with certain hosts
Reviewed on 2025-04-18
Pros
With the help using Quality of Service or QoS analysis, I’ve received a lot of help from NetFlow Analyzer. I used it to check its effectiveness in proving whether voice and video
conferencing traffic were indeed prioritized, particularly across distant branches.
Cons
The system lacked persistence on previous flow records and same were only stored for few weeks without any backup routines.
