Elastic Load Balancing
About Elastic Load Balancing
Elastic Load Balancing is a load balancing software that helps businesses streamline processes related to certificate management, SSL/TLS decryption, health monitoring, user authentication, and more from within a unified platform. It allows staff members to automatically route traffic to healthy targets, such as microservices, IP addresses, containers, and E2C instances.
Elastic Load Balancing's operational monitoring and logging tool enables employees to generate reports on error types, request latency, error counts, and request counts, among other key metrics.

I have been using Amazon Elastic Load Balancer for heavy traffic websites and mission critical applications and it works very fine. It is also very useful for auto-scaling. Overall, it helps a lot for achieving speed and uptime of application.
Pros
The elasticity that the Amazon Elastic Load Balancer offers is unparalleld. You can distribute the load of any workload between different ec2 instances and thus improve the performance of the application.
Cons
It should have extensive logging enabled so that any issue with the Load balancer can be troubleshooted easily.

The benefits and goals of a load balancer are pretty straightforward. No surprises in here. But it is really convenient to have it as one of the fundamental pieces that you can use to set your Cloud Infrastructure. From the security and performance point of view, it makes its task pretty well and allows for elasticity on the services being constructed by isolating the back pieces of the architecture.
Pros
It is very straightforward to configure and setup. If you ever reach the limits of the product, you can always go into more sophisticated solutions. Even setting one from the AWS Marketplace that some third-party partners offer.
Cons
I have always have a great performance from this element.

Great tool for automated scaling and monitoring the APIs.
Pros
Elastic Load Balancing let us create a very sophisticated scaling logic that made it possible to automatically scale the cloud computing instances and redirect the network traffic to appropriate instances. It saved us a lot of time and helped to cut overall costs in the long term.
Cons
Actually, there was not anything particular that I did not like about ELB

We choose to use AWS ELB mainly because of the simply integration with Certificate Manager. The possibility to call Lambda functions on a defined path allow us to make complex operation at request level.
Pros
Simplicity of the User Interface to set rules. Integratios with other AWS tools such as AWS Certificate Manager, AWS Lambda and so on.
Cons
The rules you can set can not to be so complex as many other LB/Proxy allows. Monitoring is quite complete but can be improved.
