It makes editing my YouTube videos so much easier, and I love that fact that their isn’t a watermark with name of the app when I save my videos.
Pros
I recently started a YouTube channel and iMovie is a God sent for me. It makes my editing life so easy! I am able to cut out parts of the video or footage that I don’t want. Mute the footage and speed up the videos. All my projects are saved on the app once the videos are still in my phone. So I can go back re-edit if I want to. You are also given the option of creating your own or you are able to use a template provided by the app, and you can just edit and make it your own. It’s user friendly, and it makes editing a lot of fun, and super easy. When you add multiple videos, a transition is automatically added by the app for you. I love the app! I would recommend 100% to anyone! Fast, easy and reliable.
Cons
The one thing about this app I which could be changed tho, is to add a faster speed to speed up videos, but you can save the video and add speed again. Apart from that this is a great app! I 100% recommend.

The video editor that gets you out of trouble

In summary, I highly recommend this video editor to make a simple, easy and fast video for your school work or something casual as I said before, but if it is for something more professional, I highly recommend using another video editor, because of the different tools that these have and not iMovie.
Pros
This video editor comes bundled with your Apple device, so you can enjoy this service without having to pay for it. Let's talk about the advantages of this video editor software, we can say that it is quite simple to create a video or a trailer that even comes with some templates with different themes according to your work, but honestly the templates that iMovie gives you, are very simple and even already known so I do not recommend using them so much. Afterwards, to start making the video, you just need to choose videos or images from your reel, and it's a matter of dragging and dropping them. You can add transitions, animations and even music if you want to have a better atmosphere to the video. Finally you can share it with Airdrop or to any social network in the same way.
Cons
It could be that it is very "basic", since to do it for a school job or something casual like gathering several family photos and videos of the last vacation, it can be accepted, but if it is for a fairly important exam or for some work that you are asked to do, I do not recommend it so much, I would recommend another type of video editor, since you can't do much in iMovie other than drag, drop and share your video, so if it's for some casual work fine, but if it's for something more important, use another more complete and professional video editor.

Not your typical video editing software!

There is no point in opening a fully-fledged video edting suite on your computer just to make quick edits if you're not working pro in video. iMovie is great for that, and export settings help to share videos easily too.Our clients love to use it because of its simplicity, we love to use it for its efficiency and fast process to a good result, when the task can allow it.
Pros
iMovie is definitely the easiest video editing software to get started with. Without rushing you into pro-minded gibberish, you can make professional looking and engaging videos.Templates is the software's strongest feature. In just a couple of clicks you can customize them to fit your desired results. Its integration with MacOS is pretty much flawless, and does not require a perfect knowledge of your computer to make thing work either.
Cons
It seems to be a very hard thing to make a simple video editing software. Microsoft and Adobe tried and still try to make some worthwhile alternative, but iMovie seems to be the only one who can take a newcomer's ideas and help him produce something fast.Of course it's not Final Cut Pro X, so don't expect nesting, color grading or other professional-level features but still, iMovie makes a great job at being a first dip into what may become a interesting hobby for those who don't own pro video gear.

iMovie, you get a lot for very little!

Pros
I've used iMovie for a number of years to create both personal and promotional videos. It's easy to you and the provided templates are brilliant! A highlight for me is being able to cut and paste elements between projects and create personal templates to use over again. You can also easily drop in images created in software such as Sketch, right into the project. This is not possible in other free products. There are lots of translations and effects that some as standard, for free. Overall it's great bit of kit.
Cons
It's an obvious one really, you need a Mac to run iMovie. This is a big issue when it comes to sharing projects, and collaborating outside of the office. I find myself doing all the editing when others could be helping, but they can't as they have windows machines.

Overall I love iMovie. It's my go to for all my fun projects for social media and slideshow videos. I am looking into moving to a more professional level software as my projects have become more involved, but I think iMovie will always be my default video editor.
Pros
I like the software because it just works. It's perfect for beginners and just working on a fun project with friends. The templates are and if you just want a simple fun video editor this is great. It can take you really far and is easy to learn. iMovie is where I learned to make videos and it is my go to for all my basic projects
Cons
iMovie doesn't have some of the more custom or professional level editing tools, but for most video projects they are not needed. One of the things I love and also hate is how iMovie automatically connects all your video clips. It's great for slide shows and many quick projects, but I hate that I can't lock clips to specific spots on the time line...they always move around based on what clips I drop into the project.

Final Cut ProReasons for Switching to iMovie
I choose iMovie because it came free with my mac. I will eventually buy Final Cut Pro, but iMovie gave me exactly what I needed to get started with video creation for my social media.iMovie FAQs
