Great for collaboration with other departments
Reviewed on 2019-08-12
Pros
Frame.io is great for collaborating between different departments of production (Offline editor, sound designer, Online...) and keep all comments in an organized place. Much better then long chains of e-mails where things can easily get lost. It's easy to use and simple to introduce other people to. Upload times are pretty fast which is also important when working on a deadline, and the Frame.io team is pretty receptacle to feedback. All is all very recommended for the types of project that have multiple department collaboration.
Cons
I would NOT recommend using frame.io with clients. They somehow either manage to get lost with the interface, or would use it to bombard you with comments since it's so easy to do.
With clients I'll stick to regular e-mails, trust me.

Frame.io is exactly what we needed for a review system. It is easy to get to grips with, easy to share, and easy to collate feedback with.
Pros
Frame.io is a super convenient browser-based solution for our video review needs. With a simple emailed link we can request feedback from all relevant stakeholders on multiple files. The timecoding of notes and switching between iterations are essential to the process and are very easily done in the software. The option to also review images also keeps the feedback process for different file types within the one location.
Cons
There is very little to dislike about Frame, other than the occasional desire for more advanced annotation features, such as tracking items or leaving notes over multiple frames. These are almost alway desirable rather than essential though, and certainly done leave the feedback unclear or incomplete.

One of our go-to video sharing softwares, but surprisingly difficult to navigate

There's a lot of promise here, but I really need a tutorial.
Pros
The single best feature of Frame.io is the ability for reviewers to leave time-coded notes on the project, simply by commenting at the moment they are trying to note. This feature saves us so much time in post, as people typically are off on their time codes when giving in notes. It has all of the features I'd want in a video-sharing site, like password protection. And I like that you can create essentially custom pages for projects to live (as opposed to old school Vimeo).
Cons
Honestly, I found this software to be confusing. There are a lot of bells and whistles to pull and prod, but without someone physically teaching me the software, I couldn't figure it out. My company doesn't have precious time to waste on boarding people onto new software, so I found using Frame.io to be more trouble than it was worth. It was almost like trying to learn Premiere on my own -- there are so many things I could do with the software, but I physically could not figure out how to use it on my own.

I've been using the frame for a year and a half, and it has led to more efficiency, love and more collaboration at work.
Pros
Personally, I use Frame.io to share videos with anyone who needs to watch them and give feedback for projects in Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects, and it's a great resource for the video production team, where members can upload videos to the Frame.io website.
It is also important to know that you can easily access media, add collaborators, participate in a review, upload your timeline for participation, participate in presentation mode, and import annotations directly into your project.
You can choose the text color for the video titles, the background color and even the thumbnail you want to appear on the screen.
Frame.io builds efficiency and love for work, and communicates faster in terms of videos.
Cons
My only negative point is that I can't say how much time people spent watching the video.
If this feature is added, Frame.io will be amazing.

Overall it has been great. It's better to get reviews through frame than in person, honestly. Can't recommend it enoguh.
Pros
I love the ease of use, how streamlined it is and how it helps organize the assets. I love reviewing/getting reviews here as you can timestamp, or draw over the images. The version stacking options are great as well!
Cons
The amount of team-members per project is limited. The notification settings are a bit of a bother, you can set them up but I always end up missing important notifications. It would be good to be able to set them up by area or sub team.
