I have been using, or should I say paying, for Contactually for the past year. I was looking for a CRM that would keep my contacts organized and in one place, and one which would help me follow-up with leads and prospects. Initially, Contactually seemed like the CRM for me. I loved the Outlook plug-in and the social intergrations. However, things started to go sideways quickly. Some of my contacts started syncing incorrectly with Facebook contacts--merging completely different people into one. Contacts that I deleted (repeatedly) were re-appearing with outdated info. Support was quick to respond, but they couldn't provide an answer, or a solution. They blamed Facebook and essentially said there was nothing more that they could do. I eventually had to un-link my Facebook account. About three weeks later, they contacted me to say that they had discovered a bug and that it should be fixed. Some time after that, they discontinued integration with Facebook.
The next issue I had was the Outlook plug-in started malfunctioning. I would get error messages when sending email. Again, Support was quick to respond, however they couldn't locate the source of the problem.
To be honest, I've never explored the marketing aspects of Contactually--the ability to set up automated email programs etc. I think I knew I wouldn't stick with the system long-term so I didn't bother to set anything up. I've been searching for another (cheaper) CRM for the past month.

Pros

I love the clean interface. Support was always very responsive, if somewhat limited in their ability to provide answers. As far as relationship management, the system does a good job of prompting you to contact people you haven't interacted with in a while. It also gives you a letter grade every week to let you know how you're doing, which is fun and motivating. There are lots of free webinars offered on how to use Contactually and how to improve your business. The Outlook plug-in is great (when it works). I have colleagues who love and swear by Contactually.

Cons

For me, the cost is too much for a system that I am not using to its full potential. In the process of trying to find another CRM, I've encountered plenty alternatives at less than 1/3 the cost. The inability of Support to identify and solve problems I had with the system is also a con. The only Social integrations are Twitter and Linked In, so the benefits of those to me are slim. The bottom line is that I would probably stick with Contactually if the price was right--and for me that means no more than $10/month.

Contactually does everything right!

Overall, this CRM lives up to its reputation. It isn't cheap but I've seen more expensive systems that actually suck. If you have it in the budget and also want a CRM that has vast capabilities and marketing -- this is your CRM.

Pros

This system is very user friendly. I picked it up within only a few days. Customization is vast but made so its not overwhelming. It is designed so well and is so amazingly intuitive it is super easy to use and makes you like using the system. The template library is huge but structured very well so it's not daunting. The templates also feel more personal and not a cookie-cutter mass email. The Bucked game is fantastic for getting those who drag their feet about categorizing need clients. Overall, this software is the bees-knees!

Cons

There are very few cons I found to the system. The largest one for my company is the reporting. It has basic reporting capabilities but we need a more robust reporting system to track all types of income from deals, especially the ability to see monthly revenue, total sale and the commission from this, lost $, etc... They are working on getting more reporting capabilities but doesn't help in the present.

Another con-ish thing is a pro and a con. It syncs SUPER well with systems, especially with Gmail--- almost too well. We get so many mass-emails about other agent's open houses and it pulls all these people into the CRM. While it's handy, it can be frustrating at times. I wish there was a plug-in for multiple email platforms where you could choose email you want to link (or unlink) to the system.

And finally, this one isn't really a big con for us but could be for those on a limited budget, the price isn't cheap; however, in my experience--- you get what you pay for. I'd say for us, Contactually is TOTALLY worth every penny.

Great value CRM

I found Contactually as I upgraded my business's ATS. This is the perfect compliment, it ties in with Google email so anything I do in one system, shows up in the other. I've been looking for years and this is the first one that appealed to me for the features and the price.

Pros

Ease of use, love the Contactually Chrome Addon that allows me to save articles for forwarding. I appears very personal when sending these to clients; the response rate was through the roof compared to regular emails.

Cons

I was disappointed by the 100% lack of follow through from the sales rep. Additionally, because I did the 30day trial using my old Gmail address, it is a mess to this day. Plus, for some reason, clients were duplicated and they still have not been able to fix it. So, use your account you'll be using from day one or do not do the trial.

Excellent CRM for Personal and Small Project Work

it helps me manage my personal strategic network and get ahead as a professional.

Pros

Contractually does all the basic things right - managing contacts, tagging them, emailing, tracking interactions, integrating with other apps effortlessly. For me as someone who uses a personal CRM system for my own strategic network, it is exactly what i need.

Cons

I use an iPhone, and the iOS app does not automatically sync my phone calls to contractually, so I need to add them manually. same for whatsapp. this is of course no fault of contactually but a limitation of ios and whatsapp being closed gardens and inaccessible. but that's the one thing that make my life harder as a user.

Amazing customer management software

Increased customer follow and retention.

Pros

The simplicity of the entire system is profound. It's an extremely easy to use platform with a robust list of features to keep track of your relationships. Their concept of buckets is great and the email marketing automation is great.

Cons

When I used this software, it was largely geared towards the real estate world. It is easy to customize however, there are some features that other CRMs do a little bit better from the customer management perspective. When I stopped using the software, email automation that was created prior continued to go out for almost a year after I had left the company and cancelled my account with them. It is an expensive piece of software, but if it helps you land one more deal - it's well worth the money.

Benefits

CRMs are powerful, but are often built for managing data, not actual human relationships. With Contactually, you get the power and business value of a CRM built into tools designed to connect you with real people, in a real way. Networks are about relationships, and relationships are about communication — Contactually helps you make communicate better, more consistently, and with real purpose.

No matter what you’re looking for from your relationships — sales, referrals, insight, or friendship — Contactually ensures that you’ll get more of it by making it easy to truly stay in touch with your most important connections.

GetApp Analysis

Contactually is a web-based customer relationship management suite that allows people to oversee and manage their communication activities through a well built, easy to use interface. The software is suitable mainly for small and medium sized companies that want to stay in contact with their key contractors, collaborators and suppliers, or freelancers that need to bring their multiple clients under one solid communication platform.

The suite is able to import contacts from an existing account and allows users create categories for their contacts, merge accounts, use templates, or even automate actions such as follow-up emails. Members of a team can share contacts and take on specific roles while remaining well coordinated.

Contactually can play the decisive role of a virtual prompter reminding users of pending contacting activities, or that of a virtual assistant who can be instructed to follow a certain pipeline of actions using separate programs with custom steps. This way, users are relieved from the daily burden of having to review, schedule and perform standard communications.

What is Contactually?

The main purpose of Contactually is to offer advanced communication management features that relieve users from the usual wasted time that comes from the preparation and execution of routine communication tasks. It allows users to import their contacts to the system, categorize them into “buckets” and then set certain programs and pipelines which can be used to automate certain chain mails, or other activities.

The benefits of using Contactually are made evident in the time saved and through more efficient communication. Additionally because communication with contacts is consistent, the sense of professionalism is enhanced for the clients through the use of a clear and stable system. Moreover, the staggering of an established relationship is successfully avoided, while potential opportunities are better exploited.

Contactually Main Features

Dashboard

The intuitive dashboard allows users to take a quick glance of their tasks, reminders, information about relationships, communication statistics and due dates. The general management grade stands at a prominent position here, and various suggestions are offered in order to improve it immediately.

All items on the dashboard are generated automatically from the user’s action scheduling which can use different follow up settings to get notified in certain time intervals and via various means such as email and phone. This way users basically never miss a due date and you can track your progress in an easier and more accurate way.

Email templates

One of Contactually’s biggest time savers is the email templates feature that helps users build a variety of communication approaches. Using this feature, users can quickly send emails of effective content while at the same time remaining personal and dedicated to each recipient.

To create, delete and edit templates, users go into Settings/Email Templates and then click on the corresponding button. From there one can easily use the provided fields of data that can be later populated by the recipient’s information such as his/her name, phone number, company and last time of contact. Every time the “follow up” button is pressed while on Dashboard, users are provided with all available templates and by clicking them they add them to their message.

Creating a new template using drag n drop features.

Article sharing

One of the things that make Contactually stand out when compared to similar applications is its ability to share articles. Users can quickly share interesting articles and media (video, images) with their contacts, based on their set interests and preferences. This way people will get positively engaged and relationships with contacts will be kept warm and active.

Using this feature is as simple as adding a special button in the browser. This button adds the article you’re reading to your Contactually Articles to Share when pressed. This is simply done through Settings/Articles Sharing from where users can drag the button to their bookmarks bar, or simply enter the article url and share it will all contacts, or accounts of certain buckets.

Share anything and make the most out of your contacts.

Programs

For contacting actions that happen in canonical and/or pre-set time intervals, there is the Programs tool that will free users from that burden. Programs are sets of actions that concern particular buckets or contacts, and can be executed either automatically or after the user’s approval.

With programs, users can automate time and resource hungry operations such as the execution of drip email marketing campaigns, the sending of connection requests to all contacts in all supported social media platforms, and the sending/receiving of follow-up reminders from and to important contacts.

Pipelines

While all the above are great tools to help users get things done in a much easier and more efficient way, the Pipelines screen is where it all adds up and ones work can be actually evaluated, the progress accurately estimated and the processes closely monitored. Through this visualization, users can feel sure that apart from the Contactually notifications, they can also check their Pipelines and get a complete picture of what is to be done, what is in the process and what is due.

While Pipelines can be used for monitoring purposes, they also constitute a powerful management tool. From the Pipelines screen, users can set task priorities, measure and take advantage of sale opportunities, share info with colleagues and collaborate towards the completion of team goals.

Contactually Integrations

Integrating with as many online services as possible is of utmost importance for a platform that aims to bring all contacts together. Contactually integrates with Linkedin, Gmail, Facebook and Twitter, covering virtually any need for marketing and promotion activities in popular platforms.

To further enhance the interoperability and usability of the software, Contactually also integrates with the Mad Mimi marketing software, the Zapier integration platform and the Mail Chimp email solution that is quite popular among marketing departments.

Contactually Pricing

Contactually comes in three different flavors that offer an increasingly richer set of features and abilities for their users. Starting from the (basic) Premium plan, it offers unlimited contacts, email support, conversation tracking and search & share team contacts at the price of 17.99$ per user per month. Going up to the small business plan, it adds phone support, templates, introductions, bulk messaging, real-time team dashboard and account management at the cost of 35.99$ per user per month.
