Allows you to set up accounts at ease with easy to review financial reports allowing users to understand where their business stands at any point in time.

Cons

Once you have filed your VAT returns you cannot go back and update/edit the previous entry

Pros

Works well being an online, cloud based product - like being able to have multiple users (all of the directors) access accounts reports and information from wherever they logon as opposed to having to pay for multiple user accounts or all use a single machine in the office.

Cons

Lack of budget reporting is frustrating as is not being able to fully interrogate double entry journal records.

Just okay. Difficult program to work with for a small business. Used it only because CPA at the time had recommended. Since then they have put us on Quick Books Online. Love that platform.

Pros

Not much. Too complicated for our small business.

Cons

Overly complicated. No way to tie bank account into accounting software. We only used the firmware version; we did not use an online version.

Having used several different accounts packages my experience with Sage has gone very well, the initial transition was a little tricky as with any package when switching across but once set up soon got to know way round the package, able to set up ledger names that we wished to use. Excellent customer support with very experienced advisors who offer second to none service when assisting with issues. I am happy with our Sage package and will continue to use most definitely.

Pros

Sage is very user friendly, great customer support always on hand to assist with any issues. Clear and concise ledgers and reports, can set up pretty much how the company wants opting for specific names ledgers. Saves time as Accountants can access the accounts to prepare end of year saving time. Good all round package especially for the smaller business.

Cons

To be honest there is not much not to like about Sage, some of the invoicing elements bit clunky for example if you need to change Clients name on a specific invoice no facility to do this at source rather than go back into Customer record, lot of columns look messy if a balance if not being out on each line. Would also be advantageous to prepare delivery notes prior to invoicing as in our business goods are often sent before invoicing especially for Clients on account. Found the Stripe a little complicated having to download CSV from Bank Account, however currently do not use this facility.

It’s simple and efficient to use. It was also easy to implement and transfer data

Cons

There are some features which could be improved eg when email invoice out customer the invoice shows as being attached but you have to open the email to find any supporting documentation caused much confusion with customers Another example it would be helpful if documents ie contracts could be attached to customers and suppliers

Standard procedures necessary for a small business.

Cons

See comments above. It is impossible to communicate by e-mail. Have wanted to send details of Sage invoice payments to Credit and Collection Department but without success. They have threatened cancellation because of perceived non payment of a couple of pounds.

I have been using the software for 9 years and it becomes second nature to me. It is precise and easy.

Cons

Perhaps the steps I need to take to reverse a check, but it is not that big of an issue.

Fairly Easy to use. The Software obviously has a lot of capability.

Cons

Multiple invoice payment...not sure if it can grab a selected range to pay instead of typing them in one by one.

It has many features. There is quite a bit of set up.

Cons

Large upfront cost to set up. Some functions are hard to use. It is expensive and account manager does not help. We are being charged for a function we do not use but signed up for by mistake. Too bad..you still are required to pay the annual fee.

Pros

The cloud version of Sage works well for our business. We all have access to the same product which is up to date at all times.

Cons

The difference in price between the packages. We currently have Sage Accounting and were looking for a multi location stock programme. This would be on Line 50 Advanced which is over £150 per month difference in the price.

Pros

Sage was Peachtree Accounting software at the beginning. No internet available. Many startup accounting packages becoming available and we picked Peachtree on belief that it was a good starting company and would succeed. We used Peachtree and later Sage for some 20+ years.

Cons

Sage was a drop in service from Peachtree. Afterwards, it was always decreasing in support. Hard to discuss any topic or correct software problems. Lack of service and support.They were all about charging you for any conversation... insensitive till it got to the point of their interfering created more problems on their mission to boost revenue. We used the same package every year for stability!

I like the simplicity to use but professionalism of the output & easier than a spreadsheet

Cons

Sage, for me, is missing automatic chasing of overdue invoicing like you can do with other software for the same purpose. Unfortunately, it’s this element that is missing which is making me consider one of the other software available until safe catches up and introduces this feature. I also think it’s missing an easy way to put a part payment against an invoice unless I just haven’t figured it out yet

Once I got to know the program I liked it a lot. I had to change to QB because of client requirements on one client and had a hard time making the transition.

Pros

I really like the reporting function and the ability to be intuitive in creating my chart of accounts and general ledger inputting. I like to do things by monthly date and the program allowed me to do that.

Cons

very pricey for our needs. If you are a larger firm it is worth it but we are smaller and was difficult to justify the high cost.

It's ease of use. I took the training and it showed me how to find and track things allowing me to easily check in on our finances.

I would like to be able to search using any word, even in the description when I am looking through purchase quick entires etc.

It does a fantastic jobs when generating reports. Reports generated are too detailed and loved by the accountants. However, when it comes to user friendliness experience, there is a bit of struggle to understand how it works.

Pros

The quality and variety of reports generated which is useful for audit purposes

Cons

If you don't know how to use chart of accounts, you may end up creating a mess to the extent that your Trial Balance does not tally!

Been using sage for over 25 years with my trading company, now only need sage cloud as our transactions are now very minimal, so its the perfect solution for me.
My accounts also use it, so its that we can have access to it at any given time.

Pros

Ease of use, simple to access remotely through sage cloud. My accountants also use it, which makes it easy for me do the accounts.

Cons

Sage, for me ticks all the boxes, only negative is i have to pay for it.

It is an easy to use accounting software that can be easily customized to an individual's business needs

Cons

The only downfall of Sage Accounting is that it is a desktop platform
