My overall experience with WordPress is Great! WordPress is open source thereby it has contributions from numerous website developers who provide regular updates and Free templates. The Free templates are a goldmine as a new user doesn't have to create a website from scratch or require much technical expertise to create something simple. Overall i highly rate it!
Pros
What i like most about WordPress is its Versatility. WordPress has thousands of plugins such as Yoast that is an SEO plugin and WooCommerce that is an Ecommerce Plugin. The plugins come in handy if a person wants to sell products on their site and monitor the site visits. Additionally, WordPress can be used to create medium sized to large-scale websites thereby offering unapparelled scalability options from small content creators to large companies. Furthermore, it has a drag and drop feature that allows new users to create pages and layouts without writing code making the whole process simple and interactive.
Cons
WordPress is a great website builder. Its friendly user interface, numerous plugins make it super efficient thereby there is nothing i do not like about the software.

Average. The learning curve can be easy at the beginning, when using templates, but steep when creating customized components or design.
Pros
It can be set up quickly through different providers, like Elementor or Divi, or directly on Wordpress.
Cons
Too much time consuming to customize sections following design trends, brand guidelines or requirements. You need many additional plugins and code development to achieve professional results

I have lost a few Wordpress websites and blogs due to hacking, but through it all I have learned to overcome the hacks. I made a consistent income from my elearning tools, book promotion and affiliate links. I couldn't have done it without such a versatile website that can be used with many resources.
Pros
I have used Wordpress for over ten years with a separate hosting plan. It's been very versatile because of the plugins I use that make my site whatever I need it to be. With knowledge of SEO and SEO templates by Envato I have been able to get free targeted traffic over the years. Wordpress is free to use with a host other than Wordpress.
Cons
Wordpress is easy to hack. As a user I need to protect my site daily because of many hacker attacks. Many solutions were very expensive so I learned how to overcome every hacking issue with free security software and a few actions to protect my login details. Using Wordpress requires security prevention daily, so automated security is needed to save your site and time. There is no customer service when using a different host than Wordpress.

WordPress is the way to go
Reviewed on 2024-01-30
Pros
I've been growing with this platform as a developer and entrepreneur. It has been an amazing journey so far because it has shifted from a "blog platform" to a "do whatever you want with it" platform. In my company we've already worked with SO many different project - and some really big. The flexibility of WordPress is amazing and if we know how to work with it, this can be very powerful! I'm obviously referring to the open-source solution, not the wordpress.com version.
Cons
The well known cons are related to the way WP saves information into database and how it works with it. That's basically the biggest problem with it. But that's also something that when we know what we are doing, we can actually play with our own tables or even our separate database, Everything is possible!

Overall, WordPress is great for its versatility, customizability, and ease of use for both beginners and experienced individuals.
Pros
It has a user-friendly interface, good flexibility/customization, a large plugin library, and mobile responsiveness. Ease of use is a major factor. WordPress offers a simple, intuitive dashboard that allows even non-technical users to manage their website, create posts, and update content without developer or coding knowledge.
Cons
Although the large library pf plugins is nice to have, there can be conflict which can cause your site to slow or even break. Depending on how many plugins you install and the complexity of your site, WordPress can become resource-intensive, causing slow load times. There also always seem to be a lot of updates required.

Its intuitive interface, vast array of themes and plugins, and strong community support have made it my preferred platform for building websites. While there have been occasional challenges with performance optimization and updates, its flexibility and functionality outweigh any drawbacks.
Pros
What stands out most about WordPress is its flexibility and scalability. With its extensive library of themes and plugins, users can create virtually any type of website, from simple blogs to complex e-commerce sites. Its user-friendly interface and robust community support further enhance its appeal for both beginners and experienced developers.
Cons
One aspect of WordPress that could be improved is its performance optimization. While WordPress itself is highly customizable, some themes and plugins may impact site speed and loading times, requiring careful selection and optimization efforts. Additionally, managing updates for themes, plugins, and the core software can sometimes be cumbersome.

Overall, I have always loved and continue to choose Wordpress as a website builder over any other option. While other options may be simpler to use to set-up a website, for anyone looking to grow or expand a business, you will eventually need to switch to Wordpress to get the advanced functionalities it provides that others do not.
Pros
Wordpress is the go-to if you plan on implementing advanced SEO into your website and if you plan to scale your business. Aside from this key aspect, I love Wordpress for it's customizability as well as features that can be accessed to make at website, blog, online shop high level.
Cons
Additional cost for customizable themes as well as challenge with setting up website and editing code if this is something you are not familiar with and prefer not to use template creator plug-ins like Elementor, etc. Elementor is amazing for this though! Wordpress is also expensive to maintain a website through with a host as after the first initial year, prices skyrocket, which can be a challenge for a brand new business. The only option to prevent this is to change hosts, however, this can create additional challenges with keeping a domain name and also additional costs to keep your existing website live through another host provider.

Fine for the basics, out of date for everything else
Reviewed on 2024-04-05
Pros
Uploading content is still easy on WP and if you have a good dev build an easy to use and simply designed site, it can be a great option for people just looking to change copy and upload blogs or template pages.
Plug-ins help simplify what might be complex for new users such as analytics, tag manager or other integrations, and linking it with things such as Mailchimp and other services is easy.
Cons
Designing on WP is clunky and feels 10 years out of date now. Whilst templates can help - making design amendments or customising blocks feels like running the risk of breaking a theme- and unless you are a front end developer and marketer, is too much of an investment of time
Drag and drop editing is not intuitive (unless you have an excellent dev built theme) and you often have to lean on plugins to do jobs that are easy on other platforms.
Creating modern, interactive sites that are also easy to amend and add to is too complicated and often not possible.
Interactive elements feel like adding PowerPoint animations to your website often and take far longer than other platforms to build and test

I have had a good blogging experience with Wordpress for over the last 12 years. I plan to keep it for many more years because it is something valuable to me.
Pros
I have been blogging with WordPress for over 12 years now. I enjoy the ability to build your own website or blog from scratch or using on of their themes. It is an easy platform to blog on due to the way the platform is built. For me, it’s easy to understand and easy to learn from creating blog posts to creating pages for your website that you have created. I like the fact that you get a domain with each purchase of a monthly plan.
Cons
I don’t like the monthly price for my website because it seems too high. I also did not like that. WordPress has partnered with Jetpack. The entire thing seemed confusing at first until I figured it out.
