Kajabi is a good all-in-one system

Reviewed on 2022-07-16

My overall experience was good. Customer support was very responsive. I liked the system but I had to hire a virtual assistant team to help me. Ultimately, I decided to move to another product that was less expensive, offered HIPAA compliance, and offered more features. Kajabi claims to be an all-in-one system but it doesn't allow online scheduling, doesn't create a marketing calendar where I can write one post and have it post on 4 social media accounts simultaneously, doesn't offer a 40% affiliate commission, and is not as user-friendly as it claims to be. The system I currently use allows for all of these features plus it's so simple that I can do everything myself and don't need to hire virtual assistants for website management. (I used Kajabi from 2018-2020; therefore, the company may have more features now than when I used it)

Pros

Completely customizable; easy contact management system for collecting leads and editing their information; user-friendly with DIY email broadcasts and blogging; great CRM; good for coaching memberships too

Cons

The base product was a bit pricey compared to other systems. There was no online scheduling system when I was using it so I had to have another product for scheduling. Although I could create my own email broadcasts and blogs, I needed a virtual assistant team to create my website and management it. I thought Kajabi was supposed to be easy to set up its website but I found it confusing.

All-in-One business solution for memberships and course creators

Reviewed on 2022-05-01

I love Kajabi. I was able to pick up on how Kajabi works pretty quickly and found it to be an intuitive product that is easy to use.

Pros

I love that with Kajabi, you have the ability to build all the basics in one location. You can create free content and publish via podcast, email marketing, blog, and website, and also have exclusive content, trainings, etc. behind the pay wall. It is all-in-one for basic use. A new online business owner can dive into Kajabi and have pretty much all the basic tools they need.

I also love the automations built in to Kajabi.

Cons

The biggest con I have heard from others is pricing prior to a new business generating steady income. However, Kajabi occasionally offers longer than normal trials that can help business owners hit the ground running. In the big picture, it is more streamlined than and comparable to linking together other platform options to achieve all of the same services as Kajabi. Kajabi makes it simple, so the price seems well justified.

Currently testing/attempting to migrate/deploy all-in-one website + online education platform....

Kajabi overpromises and under delivers.

Pros

It claims to have all the features to deploy an all-inclusive solution that encompasses online pressence, marketing, and online education.

Cons

The website builder is absolutely horrendous. The entire platform in general is very finicky and incredibly difficult to work with. I've worked in the space for over 10 years and it's by far the worst platform to work with. Even simple things like moving text blocks or uploading images in their wysiwyg builder are an abomination. I cannot recommend to anyone, especially at the price point they are asking.

Fall in love with Kajabi and all features. Brilliant for e-Learning courses

Reviewed on 2021-07-28

I absolutely love Kajabi! I did a long research before I chose the Kajabi platform. I hate using multiple platforms for Landing Pages, eMail campaigns, eMail automations, CRM, video training platform, membership area, payments, affiliate programs and assessment forms. I wanted all that to be on one place so I dont lose time and money to integrate, I dont deal with too many support teams + I wanted really good support and a company that has a vision for their future and keep working on their platform. After all my researches Kajabi won as it ticked all my boxes :) And their support proved they are really good and fast in answering (asked questions on features)

Pros

It's easy to learn, setup and manage. It has all the features I could think of for my online video training courses and I love the unlimited amount of Landing Pages.

Cons

It doesnt have an option currency to be based on the country of payment; it has only PayPal and Stripe but they are changing this at the moment (June 2021) and there are no smart Quiz forms, where the outcome results depends on the answers selected on each question

Great option for e-learning and automations

Reviewed on 2019-09-13

I am very pleased with Kajabi. My monthly expenses are 50% of what I was paying having different platforms, and now I know that all my automations run smoothly.

Pros

That I could integrate almost all my business needs under one roof. Before Kajabi I was using other software for performing different tasks in my business. I am not a coder and integrating everything -and making it work!- was kind of a nightmare. Very time consuming. And I use to spend a lot of money.
When I found Kajabi it was a life-saver. Email marketing, tagging, email automation, site creation, squeeze pages creation, e-learning platform, forms, surveys, it is an all-in-one solution.
It saved me lots of time and money.

Cons

Some features need more depth, like metrics. They've done a lot of work regarding this, but there is still room for improvement.
Also, they just integrate with Paypal and Stripe for payments. Being based in Latin America, I need also to be able to add the local payment gateway (Mercado Pago). I don't see this happening in the near future from their side, and I am sure that I am losing money because of this.

Alternatives Considered

Reasons for Switching to Kajabi

Do online business with ease

Reviewed on 2018-12-13

Pros

Kajabi is an online business portal for small businesses (primarily) that provides them with everything they need at a single place to do business over the internet. You can create funnels, use emails, manage your CRM, and so on.

It is primarily a great platform for people who are interested in selling online courses. This is one area Kajabi has been recently working on a lot. There aren't many tools that will let you sell online courses with this much ease.

As a business owner with minimal experience with marketing, funnels, landing pages, contacts, etc. you'd love Kajabi. It takes the pain out from a business owner's life. No integrations, no dealing with APIs, you get everything with one tool and that's a great benefit.

Cons

First, it is expensive especially when you compare it with its competitors.

Second, since it does a lot of things so you get a bit of everything which is something that business's don't like as they scale.

Overpromises and underdelivers

Reviewed on 2020-12-29

Based on my previous comments -- and to be fair to Kajabi -- I think it is a great platform if you don't care much about contact management (beyond the very basic) and your audience is English-speaking ONLY. It is more robust than other alternatives such as Podia; it doesn't require add-on software like Thinkific. Just know that you will pay a premium.

Pros

I liked that it is an all-in-one solution. Once you figure out how to navigate around the platform, you begin to see that you really don't need other software solutions in order to offer basic, elegant, online courses.

Cons

For the cost (which is nothing t sneeze at), I was left expecting more. When you buy a Lexus you expect higher quality components than when you buy a Toyota...and there's nothing wrong with a Toyota; I had one for close to 20 years! Specifically to Kajabi, I felt that the contact management module (called "People" in Kajabi) was weak. Most all free versions of marketing software (think MailChimp) do more than Kajabi.

Another glitch I didn't like about Kajabi was that it didn't always allow you to customize the email verbiage in your email sequence. What do I mean by this? Most of my target audience speaks Spanish...I was able to create forms in Spanish to capture emails, but the double opt-in confirmation email was in English and non-customizable. Readers of this review may not appreciate the importance of this but just imagine opting-in in English (and you only speak English) but then getting a confirmation email with Chinese characters or in Russian. Just doesn't make sense!

All-in-One for courses, website, marketing pages, payment receipts

Reviewed on 2019-07-04

Overall experience is very good - huge timesavers in the long run by having everything connected.

Pros

Once you get things set up the first time it is really easy to copy and reuse for the next set of courses. I really like all the built-in templates for the webpages and offers. It makes it very easy to optimize for mobile viewing! Love that customer support is always available. If I forget that I started a chat (I'm a multitasker) they will email me to make sure I get my questions answered.

Cons

The learning curve is a bit steep, we needed to hire a web developer to get us started. Once you understand the terms and processes it becomes much easier. (and there is always chats with support to help)

Brilliant platform, always innovating

Reviewed on 2019-12-16

I love all the features, and I haven't even scratched the surface. Their new page builder is incredibly easy to use, and I plan on moving my website over there as well.

Pros

I like how easy it is to understand the steps for getting an online business started, with the marketing, emails, purchasing and course creation parts all under one platform. There's no integration troubles, and the price is right for all the features you get. Plus, they're always coming out with new features, so even if there was another product that was almost comparable, Kajabi would still win because of their new features they're rolling out.

Cons

Learning how their automation system works is a little harder to visualize than the software I came from (Infusionsoft/Keap). I lost an easy way to track where my leads came from with my lead magnet.

Total Package for Content Marketing

Reviewed on 2021-08-11

I really love Kajabi because it allows the courses to be gamified with customizable marketing campaigns for each course.

Pros

Kajabi offers many course creation tools to design online classes or trainings from scratch. For example, there's a course creation tool that allows you to create classes, videos, and other digital tools for content. Here's the best part - once your class or training is created, there's lead generation, product launch tools, and webinar funnels to use for marketing it.

What is great about Kajabi is the seamless automation to build your product, sell, and manage purchases. It is truly an all in one tool!

Cons

Unfortunately, there is no free subscription plan. So, you may not benefit from purchasing a plan if you will not use Kajabi on a regular basis. Although, there's a 14-day free trial available to test drive the product to see if it's a good fit for you.

My Go-To Solution for Courses, Live Events, Evergreen Webinars, and CRM

Reviewed on 2018-03-26

Pros

I like that it's almost an all-in-one solution for my business. The customer service is excellent and they listen to their customers feedback. I've been with them since the launch of the new Kajabi a couple years ago and there has been constant improvement. If something goes wrong with my site, they fix it quite quickly whether it's a known bug or if they are just fixing something specific for me. Here are the things I do in Kajabi:
- storage for my courses and trainings
- houses my actual website, no other option needed
- I can use the system to run live events and sell the tickets from the cart
- I can set up an evergreen webinar in the system, although the tracking and such is nowhere near as robust as other dedicated platforms yet
- my wife sells her audio products as well as courses on her site
- I use it for a CRM with basic tagging functionality

Highly recommend.

Cons

Sometimes the features are slow to come and it doesn't always do what I want it to do but the team has helped a lot. I don't find the help section helpful and have to rely on the live chat usually to solve issues. The support for custom fonts isn't good so don't purchase any custom fonts to use here as most of the places you would want them are restricted to the options they have. On the plu, many themes support Google fonts.

Easy to use and helpful customer service

Reviewed on 2022-05-03

Kajabi has a come a long way with everything integrated into one system. The mobile app and marketing pages make it well rounded solution to teach online. It is an impressive all-in-one platform.

Pros

We wanted to offer online classes. Kajabi has a lot of features that add to the online classes like marketing and payment. Our main concern was giving the students the content. We easily added audio and video to the course. Payments worked smoothly with Stripe and has many options to customize the price and discounts. It keeps track of the students in an easy way. The best part of Kajabi is the helpful and welcoming support. They really go the extra mile and are patient. Their caring attitude helped me setup the custom domain. Customer support makes Kajabi one of the best choices.

Cons

It does not have an attendance system. Even though it does have quizzes/surveys, tracking attendance will require extra manual work. The price is high (about $120/month) but if you have a hundred students every month, then price is not an issue. You can customize the look and use the templates.

Deliver Your Trainings Without Worry...

Reviewed on 2019-05-29

There are two sides to consider. The person hosting or posting training AND the consumer that is going to go through the training. Oftentimes one side or the other isn't clean. In the case of Kajabi, BOTH sides get the benefit of a well thought out program at a fair price.

Pros

Kajabi is very easy to use and they have an outstanding support system to help those in need. We have used numerous programs for delivering video to our clients / customers / students - Kajabi has yet to be replaced and we have had it from the beginning (that says a lot in this world).

Cons

Feels constraining. Kajabi wants to control what you do rather than the other way around.

Pros

Comprehensive integration of the features an infoproneur wants

Cons

- Landing page creation is not intuitive and very restrictive. Not nearly as easy as Unbounce's WYSIWYG. Cannot drag and drop CTAs. Not much of an improvement on MailChimp.
- Onboarding is terribly annoying with a blinking green "3" in the upper left that won't go away unless you follow a linear series of steps that didn't align with what I wanted to do. I wanted to build a landing page, not a product, but Kajabi somehow thinks it knows what I want to do better than I do.

KAJABI - GOOD FOR AESTHETICS, BUT COMMUNITY NEEDS TO BE BUILT ELSEWHERE

Reviewed on 2021-02-12

If I only wanted to showcase videos, I'm okay with it. The UX/UI is pretty good. If I want to build a business on it, not so much.

Pros

I really appreciated the look of Kajabi products. Many people can design out the site and make it look very professional.

Cons

There are sevearl:

1. Monthly $100+ cost.

2. No ability to hid the comments from certain folks. One course I had was all about sharing their vulnerabilities. There was no way to hide JUST THAT ONE person's comment and make it their own journal process. Instead it was an all or nothing type of ordeal. All comments shown, or no comments.

3. Their chats are horrible. Most of their customer service reps are outsources and I've had over 20 conversations that led to me being extremely frustrated as they often did not have the critical thinking skills or just was too unmotivated to help the situation.

4. No opportunity to really have community groups within the software. I want to track people in groups in a way where I can have live conversations or some sort.

5. You will need a Kajabi specialist to help you create the site (which costs more money) if you actually want it to look nice.

Powerful, Complete, and only slightly Aggrevating

Reviewed on 2020-06-11

Overall positive. It just works. It's a robust setup process, but once you have things established, the process just works really smoothly.

Pros

I love that Kajabi has the 3 most important features all under one roof: (1) MailChimp-like marketing; (2) Payments and Membership management; and (3) Courseware

All 3 are highly usable, feature rich, and have an overall consistent UI / UX.

Cons

Well, like any broad-based platform, its not as "deep" as you might want in any given area. During startup we'd say "oh, just do X like we did in Mailchimp" only to find that "X" was not an option in Kajabi.

I recall trying to move from MailChimp. We had a large list. Kajabi only allowed us to import 500 names at a time.

Also, "PIPELINES" is a very un-intuitive concept. Super powerful, but also darn confusing.

Tool with a ton of features but extremely EXPENSIVE!!!

Reviewed on 2022-11-05

Overall, other than the pricing and a few lags here and there, Kajabi is a good platform overall.

Pros

Honestly, Kajabi is a powerful tool for courses, emails, website management, memberships, and just anything and everything along these lines. I started using Kajabi as a course platform for offering education to my audience and nurturing them...and later, we started using it as a company. Customer support is great as well and we didn't have any issues performance-wise.

Cons

The differentiator was pricing. When there are other tools (say Systeme or Landingi) offering similar (and more) solutions for a very low and affordable price, Kajabi needs to rethink its pricing model. I'd not recommend Kajabi to people who are just starting out with an online business plan.

Easy Platform with Excellent Organization

Reviewed on 2019-12-07

Overall, I am enjoying the Kajabi platform. I find it easier to use than other platforms have experience with. The ability to add tags to customer accounts and sync the system up with Stripe for payments are a couple of the highlights of the platform.
I find the platform to be user-friendly, and one I would suggest to other coaches/teachers.

Pros

I am in love with the overall ease of using the platform. My client using Kajabi to upload her courses. She has been able to determine which aspects of her account I am able to have access to.
The ability to add tags to filter customers/students is a nice feature as well. You can set it to alert you when there is a failed payment, or to which coupon codes they used, helping you track the progress.

Cons

The only complaint I have is that Kajabi and Stripe do not always communicate. We have run into instances where a client canceled their account and was still charged by stripe after their cancellation.
