All network connections are encrypted with AES-256 or ChaCha20. Should the encryption key for any subsequent session be compromised, data remains protected because the VPN protocol only honors encryption cipher suites with Perfect Forward Secrecy.\n  \nTo protect its users from network-based attacks, ProtonVPN relies on a secure core architecture that routes all traffic through multiple servers before leaving the network. All secure core servers are operated in their own networks and are located in robust data centers in Iceland, Sweden, or Switzerland. NetShield ad blocker is a DNS filtering feature that blocks malware, website trackers, and ads.\n  \nIf users lose the connection to the VPN server, the IP address still remains protected thanks to the kill switch function. All ProtonVPN servers are secured with full disk encryption, so data cannot be accessed even in the event of resource-intensive attacks. Built-in Tor support allows users to route their traffic through the Tor anonymity network to access relevant websites.","image":"https://gdm-catalog-fmapi-prod.imgix.net/ProductScreenshot/bc8d4abd-7de0-433e-a391-b3ddaaef143b.jpeg","url":"https://www.getapp.ca/software/2055629/protonvpn","@type":"SoftwareApplication","@id":"https://www.getapp.ca/software/2055629/protonvpn#software","publisher":{"@id":"https://www.getapp.ca/#organization"},"applicationCategory":"BusinessApplication","aggregateRating":{"@type":"AggregateRating","bestRating":5,"ratingCount":44,"ratingValue":4.5},"offers":{"price":"6.99","@type":"Offer","priceCurrency":"USD"},"operatingSystem":"Cloud, Apple, Windows, Linux, Chrome, Android, Platform ios, Platform ipad"},{"@type":"BreadcrumbList","@id":"https://www.getapp.ca/compare/2050045/2055629/access-server/vs/protonvpn#breadcrumblist","itemListElement":[{"name":"Home","position":1,"item":"/","@type":"ListItem"},{"name":"Remote Work Software","position":2,"item":"/directory/1699/remote-work/software","@type":"ListItem"},{"name":"OpenVPN Access Server vs Proton VPN","position":3,"item":"https://www.getapp.ca/compare/2050045/2055629/access-server/vs/protonvpn","@type":"ListItem"}]}]}
